Reviews

  • The classroom where kids role-play the jobs is a model of inclusiveness, and both specialized (astronaut, ballet dancer), and everyday (janitor, mechanic) occupations are highlighted. The illustrations, almost startling in their brightness, fit the happy boastfulness of the book. . . a fun peek at careers that are just right for young children."

    - Booklist
  • "An enthusiastic boy explains that his teacher '. . . is so good,/she can teach. . . anyone!'. . . The story ends on a heartwarming note, when he states that he is happy '. . .because this year . . . she is teaching ME!' . . . the message is sure to be appreciated by educators, and the illustrations charmingly portray the special relationship between the teacher and her students."

    - School Library Journal
  • "In an alphabetical list of accomplishments told in rhyming text, readers see how anyone from an astronaut learning to float in space to a kayaker pulling a stroke, to a zillionaire living in style can learn from this wonderful woman. But most important is the children, and in particular, the little boy who's fortunate to be in her class this year, learning about a world beyond the three Rs. . . An inspiring introduction to the new school year."
