AI POLICY
All titles, illustrations, and promotional materials published and displayed by Lee & Low Books, Inc., including its imprints and any of our production partners’ products, are protected by U.S. Copyright Law and the Berne Copyright Convention. As such, Lee & Low does not permit or consent to the use of any of our aforementioned products and services to train generative artificial intelligence (A.I.). For the purposes of this section, A.I. means any machine-based computer, or other system or systems, that can perform cognitive functions and tasks commonly associated with the human mind, such as predictions, recommendations, or decisions that now exists or is hereinafter developed such as, without limitation, ChatGPT, Zoom AI Companion, Bing AI, Google Gemini, Microsoft Co-pilot, Perplexity, Claude, OpenAI, and Jasper.
Any suspected use of Lee & Low’s property to train A.I. will be viewed as a direct violation of our rights as outlined by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and any said violations may result in injunctive relief or monetary compensation against any and all damages.
Furthermore, Lee & Low Books strongly discourages the use of A.I. by educators and/or librarians to create lesson plans or activities for their curriculum based off of our titles. Lee & Low provides free educator resources with structured questions that include age-appropriate activities and background information to encourage your students.
