Dolores Johnson was born in New Britain, Connecticut. Growing up, she wanted to be an artist, just like her big brother. Dolores received her BFA from Boston University and is now the author and/or illustrator of over 16 books for children, but this is her first one for beginning readers. Dolores also teaches children’s literature at the college level. She lives in Inglewood, California.
