Phyllis J. Perry was born in Nevada City, California. She has published over 40 books for children and educators, and she was inspired to write this book by a neighborhood child she often sees playing on a big rock. Phyllis loves to travel and has visited all 50 states in the United States. She also enjoys hiking in Boulder, Colorado, where she lives with her husband.
Chih-Wei Chang has a degree in illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. A full-time artist and designer, he lives in Taiwan.
