Dinah Johnson was born in Charleston, South Carolina. She is the author of several books for children and is a contributor to the award-winning In Daddy’s Arms I am Tall: African Americans Celebrating Fathers published by Lee & Low Books. In addition, Dinah is an associate professor of English at the University of South Carolina. She lives in Columbia, South Carolina, with her daughter and their dog, Buttercup.
